BEGGINER KNIFEMAKING WORKSHOP: Make a Stainless-Steel Custom Knife (Two Days)

This one-on-one workshop takes you through the entire process of crafting your own full tang stainless-steel knife from start to finish.

Day 1: Design and Grind

  • Safety Induction.

  • Begin your journey by selecting from a variety of knife templates (think: camping, fishing, skinning, hunting, cooking).

  • Learn the fundamentals of knife design and blade geometry. Choil’s anyone?

  • Heat, hammer, and heat treat your knife.

  • Lunch.

  • Learn how to grind a profile and bevel onto your knife. Progress through different types of belts to achieve your desired finish.

Day 2: Handle, Sharpen and Finish

  • Safety Induction.

  • Let’s get creative! Choose your handle material, coloured liners from our vast range and pin stock to suit for a beautiful glue up.

  • Helloooo hand sanding.

  • Lunch.

  • Learn how to polish and sharpen your blade to achieve a razor-sharp finish.

  • Basics of knife care.

Throughout the workshop, our skilled instructors will provide personalized guidance and support, ensuring you gain valuable skills and a deeper appreciation for the craft. By the end of the experience, you’ll leave with a beautifully crafted knife, ready for use and a lasting memento of your time in our forge.

LOCATION: 59 Western Drive, Gatton Q 4343 (30 mins from Toowoomba; 45 mins from Ipswich or 70 mins from Brisbane)
